Following the 15th December 2005 Microfinance Policy launched in Nigeria by President Olusegun Obasanjo and subsequent Supervisory/Regulatory Guidelines released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for Community Banks on the Policy; the Directors of Nkpolu-UST Community Bank resolved to fully comply and convert to a Microfinance Bank to be known and referred to as Nkpolu-UST Microfinance Bank Ltd.
